Meet Dr. RJ Gelinas
I love that every single day, I help people reach their greatness.
Dr. RJ was playing super league rugby in Canada when a recruiter from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, offered him a scholarship to attend chiropractic school. His older brother was a chiropractor, but Dr. RJ didn’t know much about chiropractic except for getting the occasional adjustment when he was in pain. With a want to continue his rugby career, he left Canada and moved to Davenport, Iowa to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Sickness Takes Away Life
While attending Palmer, Dr. RJ started developing some digestive issues. He thought he was healthy based on how he looked and felt but soon started having symptoms. He went home to Canada and ended up in the hospital. It wasn’t long before he was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and Cirrhosis of the Liver.
The medical solution for Dr. RJ was to take multiple medications for the rest of his life, which would leave him unable to have children. Dr. RJ felt that living without the chance of having his own family would ultimately be the end of his life. He sunk into a deep depression and thought he’d never find his way out.
Taking Control Back
Dr. RJ had a friend who asked him a life-changing question while going through his health struggles. The friend asked, “What would you be willing to do to get your life and health back?” Dr. RJ replied, “Anything!” He then went to see a Corrective Care Chiropractor his friend had recommended.
While under the care of this doctor, Dr. RJ was educated on the one cause of dis-ease, the body’s inability to adapt due to subluxation; and the one cure, the body’s innate healing power. He also learned that from X-rays, one could see what was wrong with a person’s spine, specifically the atlas, and how to correct it through specific and scientific chiropractic care. This was something he had never learned in school. Up to this point, Dr. RJ had thought of chiropractic as pain-based. In fact, he and his brother had plans to set up shop together, naming their practice “House of Pain.”
Learning How to Help Others
At this chiropractor’s office, Dr. RJ had X-rays taken to find the true cause of his problems and start correcting his subluxations. Dr. RJ and Dr. Michelle, who had stayed together through his struggles, spent their last months in chiropractic college, flying all around the world to specialize in becoming certified chiropractic wellness practitioners focused on subluxation biased corrective care chiropractors.
By the time Dr. RJ graduated in October 2006, he had lost 75 pounds and no longer had diabetes or cirrhosis. His blood pressure and cholesterol were within normal ranges and he regained his health and life through specific and scientific corrective chiropractic care. It was then Dr. RJ knew he wanted to bring pure chiropractic care to his community and share it with as many people as humanly possible.

Loving Life and Health
Dr. RJ and Dr. Michelle have been married since 2007. They have three children, Jayda, Justus and Jemma, born at home and adjusted within seconds after birth. They’re healthy children who have never been to the medical doctor. Dr. RJ’s family is the love of his life and his spare time is spent with them. After the birth of their second child, Dr. Michelle made a hard decision to be a stay-at-home mom, supporting and homeschooling their children.
In his spare time, Dr. RJ wants to be with his loved ones, preferably outside. He loves going to the pool, working out and playing rugby or hockey. He is on the Colorado Chiropractic Association Board as well as the Autism Board. Dr. Michelle will also tell you that Dr. RJ loves to shop!
